Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet (Mk6 2013)

Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet exterior

5 Pros

  1. Pretty much the cheapest convertible you can buy and it is not that much more expensive than the equivalent hard top version
  2. Terrific handling. This car loves corners
  3. The one available engine is very fuel efficient and the roof opens in 9 seconds
  4. Very comfortable and quiet to drive
  5. 5 out of 5 star safety and ok room for luggage and the rear two seats

5 Cons

  1. The epic GTi and R versions are not yet confirmed for Australia
  2. Ongoing reliability issues related to Volkswagen (although this one is apparently built in Germany)
  3. Ultimately not that fast in a straight line and some will still call it a girls car
  4. Expensive options such as $3k for Sat Nav and $3k for leather
  5. DSG gearbox can be a little jerky and from the side it looks a little stretched

Concluding personality type: Paris Hilton: Life become a lot more fun once you take your top off
