Mini Roadster (2013)

Mini Roadster body

5 Pros

  1. The Roadster has outstanding handling like much of the Mini range
  2. Decent boot and practicality as a result of removing the rear seats
  3. Pretty fast, especially in the Cooper S and JCW format (the Cooper is a little undercooked)
  4. Terrific exhaust sound in most models and good fuel efficiency from all the engines
  5. Probably more manly than the Mini Cabrio hatch

5 Cons

  1. Like many Mini’s, the Roadster apparently suffers from a harsh ride and some steering nervousness under acceleration
  2. Very limited rear visibility (although rear parking sensors are standard)
  3. Same price as the excellent Mazda MX-5 and Renault Megane RS265 and much more expensive than the Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet and the Fiat 500 Cabrio
  4. Some questionable ergonomics (like a confusing dash and a thin roof that lets in lots of noise) and Mini’s patchy reliability record
  5. Styling is unusual at best and ugly at worst

Concluding personality type: Champagne: Half the appeal is that it is expensive
