Volvo S60 (Second generation 2013)

Volvo S60 exterior

5 Pros

  1. The Volvo S60 is pretty much the cheapest European compact executive car you can buy (ignoring the Volkswagen Passat…)
  2. Safe as you would expect (and all models include “city safety” which will brake automatically to help stop you hitting the car in front)
  3. Some decent standard equipment in a nice interior including an 8 speaker stereo, electric drivers seat and rear parking assist
  4. It looks much more interesting than the typical German alternatives (such as the Audi A4)
  5. The T6 version is pretty quick (but a much cheaper Volkswagen Passat V6 is quicker again)

5 Cons

  1. Historically very poor resale values
  2. Not that fuel efficient when compared to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or BMW 3 Series
  3. Rear headroom is a bit tight and the boot is small
  4. Some expensive options such as $4k for Sat Nav and $4k for the excellent system which helps you avoid hitting pedestrians
  5. Ok around corners, but not as good as the Mercedes or BMW

Concluding personality type: Rosé: A very real alternative to the standard Red or White
