Ford Territory (2013 SZ)

Ford Territory exterior

5 Pros

  1. The Ford Territory has long been considered one of the best handling cars in the class and this model continues that trend
  2. 7 seats are available (although the rear row is best left for kids)
  3. 5 out of 5 star safety and built in Australia
  4. Roomy cabin and a big boot (although it does get a little small with all 7 seats in use)
  5. Decent towing capacity

5 Cons

  1. Not very fuel efficient. The Diesel engine is about 25% worse than the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorrento
  2. Interior feels cheap
  3. No reversing camera or sat nav available in the cheapest model
  4. Quite expensive when you consider you can get a European compact SUV for $10k less (the Volkswagen Tiguan) and the previously mentioned similarly priced Koreans have a five year warranty
  5. Rear visibility not great

Concluding personality type:  Boxer shorts: Good, but in a class with no clear winner

  1. Andrew

Actually its very good value when you consider it handles better than a $100k+ BMW X5 or any other European SUV. The comment about the Tiguan is irrelevent as its not in the same class!

Agree with Andrew. Owned an X5 and the Territory is much nicer to drive, has equivalent fuel economy (comparing diesel versions), and with a Range Rover diesel on board and ZF-made transmission less likely to suffer failures.
