Volkswagen Amarok Dual Cab (2013)

Volkswagen Amarok exterior

5 Pros

  1. The Volkswagen Amarok was voted Manliset Motor of the Year for 2011 by Zoo magazine…
  2. Luckily, it has also won a bunch of awards from serious off road and utility magazines. This car is a genuinely good with European badge value, massive load space and serious off road ability
  3. Nice interior, but the Mazda BT-50 just beat it to Drive ute of the year because of its 2 extra  airbags, low range automatic gearbox and stronger towing capacity
  4. 5 out of 5 star safety
  5. Close to car like dynamics and acceptable fuel efficiency (especially in the TDI340 model)

5 Cons

  1. Built in Argentina
  2. The rear end can feel a bit wrong when not under load (not unusual for this style of car)
  3. It is a massive vehicle, so it can be difficult to maneuver (especially given that reversing sensors are not standard on most models)
  4. Manual only in the Single Cab versions
  5. Cruise control and rear diff lock are options on the base versions
  6. The name translates to “he loves stones…”

Concluding personality type: Bikie: I’m scared to argue
