Mazda 2 (DE)

Mazda 2 exterior

Parking inspectors dream

5 Pros

  1. The Mazda2 is funky. Most Mazda’s now look good, previous models looked like mobile tissue boxes
  2. The 2 can be entertaining to drive with a decent exhaust sound and a good short throw manual gearbox
  3. Usable rear seats
  4. The Mazda is reasonably fuel efficient, but could be better
  5. It’s light – and as Kate Moss told us, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

5 Cons

  1. The boot is not the biggest in the class
  2. It’s getting a bit old – the underlying model was introduced in 2007
  3. Not all models are built in Japan – ask your dealer
  4. It has drum brakes on the rear, but the braking performance is still ok
  5. The Mazda’s child bearing hips can get annoying – tight squeezes are going to be ugly

Concluding personality type: Cyndi Lauper: “girls, just want to have fun….”
