Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet

Mercedes-Benz E-Class body

5 Pros

  1. Surprisingly easy to drive for a big car – the Mercedes Benz E-Class Cab is a great grand tourer – quiet, effortless and comfortable
  2. 4 layered convertible roof – its quiet when up and can be opened and closed at up to 40km/h
  3. The optional heated seats and neck air vents combined with the standard Aircap system make driving it a joy in cold weather – it must be noted though that the Aircap system, essentially a spoiler for the front windscreen that deflects air over the rear passengers, looks ridiculous
  4. Automatic headlights are very clever
  5. Adults can use the rear seats

5 Cons

  1. The boot is small
  2. 4 seater convertibles are the J Lo of cars – attractive, but a little ill proportioned
  3. It is not a fast sports car – but if you can afford this car, people probably don’t mind waiting for you
  4. Don’t be fooled by the name – its more closely related to the cheaper C-Class than E-Class
  5. As is usual for a Benz, its more expensive than competitors

Concluding personality type: Prince Charles – composed and refined – but a bit stodgy

Aircap system deployed on top of windscreen to keep passengers warm  – man in back seat still looks unimpressed
