Opel Insignia Sports Tourer (2013)

Opel Insignia Sports Tourer

5 Pros

  1. The German built Opel Insignia looks pretty stylish for a family car and has that all important European badge
  2. Strong levels of interior space with more headroom than the standard Insignia sedan
  3. Well equipped with leather, front and rear parking sensors, auto headlights, auto wipers and 7 speakers
  4. Better than expected around corners
  5. 5 out of 5 star safety

5 Cons

  1. The engines are either slow or inefficient
  2. The Mazda 6 and Ford Moneo wagons are over $5k cheaper
  3. Not the biggest boot in the class (the much cheaper Hyundai i30 Tourer has a bigger boot)
  4. Some question marks around the general ride and ergonomics (the seating position can be a little uncomfortable and the dash buttons a little confusing)
  5. European SUV’s such as the Volkswagen Tiguan are cheaper

Concluding personality type: Premium economy: Hard to justify the expense

UPDATE: Opel as a brand has now left Australia…
