Dodge Journey (2013)

Dodge Journey

5 Pros

  1. Like most Dodge’s, the Mexican built Journey looks pretty macho (for a people mover / SUV)
  2. You can have seven seats as an option and interior space is generally pretty good
  3. The performance from the engine is ok
  4. Some nice interior touches like a built in booster seat and some clever storage spaces
  5. 5 out of 5 star safety rating in Europe (it has not been tested in Australia, but with six airbags it should be close)

5 Cons

  1. Hopeless fuel efficiency and it is front wheel drive (so keep any off road ambitions in check)
  2. No reversing camera as standard and the reviews of the dynamics are mixed at best (this car is heavy)
  3. Some questions over the brand longevity. The current Dodge lineup has already been reduced from three cars to one and the thought is that Fiat will eventually replace this brand with its own version of the cars (Fiat and Dodge more or less have the same owner)
  4. Tiny boot with all seven seats in use. Other seven seat options such as the Ford Territory, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorrento are probably better if you have 6 passengers
  5. No diesel option and the towing capacity is quite small

Concluding personality type: Steroids: Appearances can be deceiving
