Opel Insignia OPC (2013)

Opel Insignia OPC

5 Pros

  1. The Opel Insignia OPC is faster in a straight line than it’s main compeition, the Volkswagen Passat V6 and the Skoda Superb V6
  2. All wheel drive, so it is very good around corners
  3. High quality (if fussy) interior and a big boot
  4. Sat Nav and Recaro sports seats as standard
  5. It actually looks very good and should be made in Germany like the rest of the Insignia range

5 Cons

  1. Badge value a bit unknown and probably not as good as the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 or Mercedes-Benz C-Class
  2. Rear visibility is poor and the model is getting a bit old
  3. Rear seat headroom is a bit tight
  4. Hopeless fuel efficiently when compared with modern diesels
  5. It is heavy, so do not expect it to be as nimble as you might hope (and apparently it suffer from a bit of turbo lag)

Concluding personality type: Robin: Not the main hero (see the Astra OPC), but a pretty good sidekick

UPDATE: Opel as a brand has now left Australia…
