5 Pros
- The Mitsubishi Outlander has the ability to have seven seats – a not too common option in the compact SUV market
- 5 out of 5 star safety and a 5 year warranty
- Most of the engines are very fuel efficient and close to the class leading Mazda CX-5 (the Diesel is particularly good)
- Rear seats fold cleverly to make a very versatile load space
- Some fancy systems available such as brakes that will apply themselves automatically to avoid an accident and cruise control that will speed up or down depending on the car in front
5 Cons
- Reversing camera is not standard across the range
- Same price as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Yeti but without the European badge appeal
- Some reported issues with the CVT transmission (initial models have apparently been overheating)
- Generally the petrol engines are not held in very high regard
- Poor steering and some questionable dynamics were part of the reason it got no votes in the recent Drive Car of the Year competition
Concluding personality type: Andy Roddick: Good, but the problem is others are great
