5 Pros
- The Subaru Liberty has a very spacious interior (particularly in the rear)
- The GT version is very quick and loaded with equipment (although the ride is a bit harsh)
- Most of the other versions are quite well equipped and they all have a reversing camera
- Good around corners
- 5 out of 5 star safety with all wheel drive across the range and an outstanding system called “eyesight” on some models that can help you avoid accidents
5 Cons
- The looks. Not horrible, but a little drab, particularly compared to the new Mazda 6
- X version is packed with equipment and sits slightly higher than the normal Liberty but is also the same price and lacks the prestige of many European SUV’s
- Most of the engines are slow and fuel efficiency across the range lags the field
- Dash seems a bit cheap, especially in the expensive versions that are the same price as the Mercedes C Class
- No fold down seats avaliable in the sedan version. This is inexcusable given the boot is smaller than competitors like the Toyota Camry
Concluding personality type: Vegemite: A long term Australian favourite, but there are mixed views on its appeal
